OUGD405 EDIBLE TYPE: THE COMPETITION

We presented our edible type outcome on Friday 12th December 2014 at exactly 10am amongst all the other contestants from all 3 years of the Graphic Design course. There were some really fantastic entries, from Jampersand Victoria sponge cakes with accompanying jammie dodger style hand made bisuits, to Futura Falafel with accompanying dips. There was also a little house village, jam tarts, crackers, ice cream cake, rocky road and Georgiabread.
The winner was Georgiabread, which was those two words made out of gingerbread and cut into the typeface Georgia, then stuck into popping candy, iced muffins. They looked absolutely delicious and I only wish I could of tasted a bit of it. The first runner up was Futura Falafel, which was absolutely delicious and actually looked like the Futura typeface as well. The other runner up was an Ampersand made out of truffles in the shape of it, with accompanying truffles in a glass jar on the side. It had nuts to glaze the top as well and looked very yummy.
This years winners were surprisingly all first years, and all of the entries looked really delicious and probably tasted just as good too.

The first place winner, Georgiabread with the two runners up, Futura Falafel and Truffle Ampersand.
Georgiabread, first place winner of 2014 Edible Type competition.
Futura Falafel, first runner up of 2014 Edible Type competition. The only reason it wasn't first place was due to it's lack of festivity the judges said.
Second runner up, the truffle Ampersand.
