Presenting our designs to ONLY Design Studio (who set the brief), in an informal crit to share our ideas and to get feedback from the professionals.
Below is my presentation:
Feedback:
- Work on how the initial image page loads, for example making the logo write itself in a GIF or/and the island slowly come into view, perhaps fade in or fly in maybe. Must ensure it isn't an overload with everything happening at once as it may be quite overwhelming.
- Instead of using an arrow as was experimented before, keep it simple and click or scroll anywhere and the proper home page rolls up.
- When you click on an island on the home page it zooms in on the island itself and then the information rolls down from the top. Making it have more depth.
- Make more of a thing of the pre-order, as this is the brief. Swap "log-in" with pre-order, so it is always on the page no matter what you're looking at.
- Think about the content of the links to make people keep coming back for more, with things relevant to the album itself, not just competitions.
MOBILE SITE:
- Remove the social media hot keys to make more room for the island themselves, and blow the island up as big as possible to make it easier to click on the one you want.
- When you click on an island for the link, have the island large on the background, how it zooms in on the website, only make it so you can swipe between the islands, so the information is easily readable and you don't have to keep going back go the island map.
- Also make the body copy text larger so it's easier to read.
A point that was made to the whole group was to make sure to include how the website will interact with the key countries, have the content personalisable for each country, so each country has a tailored experience just for them. This could be done by having the social media feed on the website being able to be set to a specific country, so you only receive feed relevant to that country and you. Another option could be to have the news feed personalisable to each country, a differed feed for each country, and you just select the country that is relevant to you, this would be a lot easier to monitor and would contain information about tour dates for each country, and country specific information as well.
