White:
This is one of my favourite cover stocks, as the leaves print out really vibrantly on this stock, and the contrast between the leaf colour and the stock is great. However, with the inside covers being blank and the same stock as the content stock, it can look a little plain and blank, like there's almost too much of the same stock showing. However I don't know if this is just an issue I'm seeing because I've spent so much time looking at the guide, or if this is actually an issue.
Green:
The main factor putting me off this stock is that it isn't recycled. I'm definitely warming to the green on green cover, and think it reflects the content of the guide effectively. On the inside cover pages, it also defines the cover as being a cover being a different colour, and stops the guide from looking too samey.
Brown:
If only I'd of produced a mock up of this stock before the final print. This is a no go stock colour choice. The leaves don't have half the impact they should do with the colour appearing dull printed on a dark stock. This gives an overall doom and gloom vibe to the guide.
Feedback:
After showing my cover choices to a peers, they said they preferred the green cover, only because of the contrast between it and the content pages stock. With the cover being in the same stock as the content, on the inside pages it does all look too much of the same, the contrast creates more interest.
Therefore the green stock will be used for the covers of all three guides.
