In studio brief 2 I have to develop upon my designs in studio brief 1, using the feedback I got from my peers in critiques. Here I must select 10 of my designs that got the best feedback in critiques, and develop them using my feedback, so that they are more practical and work better as a typeface, rather than just a fancy design that is unreadable. I must also adapt my designs so make them easier to reproduce on Illustrator in a later brief, which means making them in flat black, as all typefaces are flat black, none are in colour, to make them more legible, and to work better as body copy text. Part of studio brief 2 is also to start developing a grid for my typeface, so that it will be a lot easier to produce the whole alphabet for my chosen design. To do this effectively I will need to research grids for both typefaces and layouts of publications such as newspapers and websites.
