OUGD405 STUDIO BRIEF 2 - MIND MAP

To start off with this brief the first thing that I did was to create a mind map exploring all my ideas.

This is my mind map. One of my initial ideas was Lego minifigures. I thought about creating a tick sheet like you find in the Lego minifigure packets of 100 different Lego minifigures, from the first ever minifigure to the more recent collections. I could include minifigures such as the Heroes, Star Wars, the Simpson's, and the series minifigures as well.
Another idea I had was of different fruit and vegetables, I could research 100 interesting fruit and vegetables, creating a fact file possibly.
I also thought about researching a company that is celebrating it's 100th anniversary this year, although unless I could find a company I was really interested in this could be quite a boring topic.
Another interesting idea I had was to start off at home, whether that be my flat in Leeds or my house back home, and see all the different places I could get to in 100 steps. This could result in some really interesting results, although I have a feeling 100 steps isn't that far, and the places I could get to may not be that interesting.
I had the idea of 100 different capital cities, of researching what they're famous for, and their countries flag and map as well. This could be really interesting to do, although I wouldn't be able to get any of my own photographs, as it would be impractical and pretty much impossible to travel to 100 different countries in the timescale I have been given.
A also thought about street names, finding interesting street names or even places really and researching into a bit of the history of that place. This could be really interesting and it is something that could be very flexible as well. The only problem with this is that it might be tricky to research the meaning behind different street names, as some there might not be any history behind.
My final idea is house numbers. I had the idea to photograph the house numbers 1-100 from both in Leeds and back home as well, and in the surrounding areas, as some house numbers are really interesting the way they have been made, either by a painting, or pottery or even just plain metal, they all vary so drastically. To gather information other than just a photograph of the house number I also plan on asking one person who lives there 20 different questions to make up the 20 facts and figures etc part of the brief.
