We had the final discussion, almost a final critique, of our presentation of the exhibition branding we presented earlier in the week, to discuss with one of our tutors how we have worked together as a group, and how we managed our time, and any issues we had had with working collaboratively.
We all thought we had worked very effectively as a group, as none of us had really strong opinions and were all up to trying any idea. We managed our time effectively through talking on a group chat on Facebook, and posting any files on a closed group we created especially for the brief on Facebook as well, which made it really easy to transfer files when we weren't in college. We found that we hadn't had any problems working together, and hadn't had a single conflict really, because of our easy going nature, we were quite happy to go with the idea that looked the best, and make any changes to it that people thought would improve it. Nobody was really stubborn on one idea and wouldn't listen to other group members opinions, which meant we worked very well together on this brief.
To improve it was suggested we should of considered different budgets we would stick to, and how our outcomes would vary depending on the budget. It was commented for our PDF presentation we needed to go into more detail and more development on the little refined aspects, and that we should of included everything in the presentation, not relying on the verbal presentation alone, so that when they looked back at the presentations ours would be more cohesive and extensive.
My tutor also commented that our logo looks a bit like a stretched version of the college logo, and that several people preferred the book outline we used as a guide for our actual logo, as our actual logo was just a bit too ambiguous. My tutor also commented that the Garamond typeface clashes too much with the Babas Neue typeface, they're too contrasting. The vinyl wall stickers also wouldn't be able to be produced professionally as well, because using two colours, it would have to be done more amateur. Finally, it was said that if we would have been chosen, then we would of had to of done a lot more work to fulfil the brief and be ready for the exhibition.
All in all though my tutor was impressed how we had worked as a group, and thought that our actual idea worked nicely, and how we had mocked up the signs showed this really well, however our presentation and work generally just needed that little extra development.
