Background:
Think about the new experiences that you have had, the difficulties that you have overcome and the new people you have met and the life skills you have acquired this year.Remember what it was like starting your first week, how did you feel and what emotions did you experience? Excitement, trepidation, fear or did you feel overwhelmed. You might have benefited from some advice, opinions and insight from others that have experienced the same transition.
What might you say, do or give to next years graphic design students to make the transition into the student experience, particularly this course more welcoming?

My understanding of the brief:
I understand I must produce an outcome of my choosing to convey a message or piece of advice to the next first years about living in leeds or away from home, how to survive university or how to do well in this course. We can produce this individually or as collaboration with other students from our year. To produce this we have to think about what we learnt during the course and what we wished we had known more about at the start of the course or when we moved to Leeds, to make the transition easier. The outcome we produce for this brief should inform the PPP presentation. Our tutor gave us ideas of things we could produce, such as cook books, a simple users guide to typography, as typography was the main focus for Studio Brief 1 of the first module. We could also produce a guide to the good pubs in leeds, or cafe of food shops too, or practices or practitioners we wished we'd known more about at the start of the course. It was suggested we produce the outcome in the medium or style we want to carry on producing work in during second year, starting to develop our own style. We can produce anything we want for this brief, but we must have a reason for producing it, rather than producing it just for the sake of it.
