OUGD505 STUDIO BRIEF ONE - IDEA BASIS

For the bank notes, I have a plan.

- Detail of the imagery will be screen printed.
- The main colour will be injected using either Brusho powders or mono printing. Mono printing will allow for more control, however if I used stencils for the Brusho this could also be interesting, and the colours will generally be a lot more vibrant, and Brusho is more fun to do.
- The information such as amount, currency itself and any addition text will either be put on using screen printing in the same colour as the detail for the imagery, or maybe foiled, although this may pose issues with printing the toner onto the note and lining everything up. It may also be added using vinyl, which would add an interesting texture and raised finish. A more practical method could be to print the very key information such as the amount and the currency using screen printing normal inks, and then any additional security or minor information using screen printing method and varnish or transparent inks. This would mean a two colour print would be produced, and two sections to the screen print, so will take longer to produce the finish product.

What needs to be done is to finish drawing the outlines for the notes, and then mock up the Brusho or mono print areas digitally to see how it looks, then decide on what information, necessary or security wise, will be included, then see which would be the most effective method to go about this.

I also need to decide whether I should actually print just one note, or the whole collection, or whether to focus on one and see where the rest come to depending on time etc.
