OUGD403 ILLUSTRATOR WORKSHOP

During my Adobe Illustrator workshop I found out how to do quite a few interesting things that I didn't know how to do before. For example I learned how to change the width of stroke several ways, which will be very useful when I start digitalising my typeface ideas. I also found out how to make the whole Illustrator page into a grid, which will prove very useful when I start producing my typeface designs on Illustrator, especially for making sure they are all in the right scale and the edges are straight.
Last Illustrator session the previous week was also very useful, as I learnt loads of shortcuts and basically just refreshed my current knowledge of Illustrator, as I used it in my A Levels the past 2 years.
Here is some of the experimental work that I produced during these two sessions.
This is the work from my first session where I experimented with Command and D key combination to duplicate images. I also experimented with cutting out shapes and Letterforms from objects as well, and different fill options.

This is the work from my second illustrator workshop, where I experimented with different weights and the scribble tool. I also learnt how to produce a grid using the grid tool.

During the end of the second session I also produced the letterform "E" using the pen tool, and I am quite pleased with the outcome, as I feel I have made it match my drawn version very closely. Now it looks a lot more professional and the lines are a lot cleaner and the strokes are actually straight and an accurate weight as well.

After a few more Illustrator workshops I hope to have a much more comprehensive knowledge of Illustrator and also Photoshop, that will help my work progress and develop and be more professional also.
