This brief has been challenging in many ways for me, as logo design I don't see as my strong point. Throughout most of this brief I felt my logo wasn't really a logo, but just text I was changing the colour of, however often logos are very simple, it's the research and reasoning behind such simple choices that is important, which is something I didn't quite get to start with, but felt my logo had to look as if it took a long time to produce, in order to be worthy as a final outcome for a brief. This I now know is wrong, sometimes if it looks simple it could actually of taken a long time to make it look this way. I also found it challenging applying my logo to different products, as this isn't something I do often enough, and it took me a while to figure out how the template works to put my own design in place. This is just something that will become easier in time with practice.
I really enjoyed learning how to produce and actually producing the neon effect, as this is something entirely new to me, so it was great to learn a new skill which may come in use again during the course. Researching into neon signs was also fascinating, as this is something new again to me, as I've never looked into it before, so it was interesting to see the colours used and the different styles of neon signage, especially how raw and carefree Tracey Emin's appears to be.
Another fall down of mine during this brief I feel is my time management, as it took me a lot longer to actually finalise this brief than it should of done if I had made better use of my time. This is something I should work on for future briefs, to ensure I can get started on design boards for each brief as I finish each brief, instead of running out of time trying to finalise each brief, and therefore leaving the design boards and some of the blogging until the end.
