OUGD505 STUDIO BRIEF ONE - WHY BRASILIAN REAL & THE AMAZON RAINFOREST

I chose the Brasilian Real for this brief as I have recently came back from a trip to Brasil to visit my family and see a bit of the country, and this has really inspired me to include more of this heritage of mine in my work, and to explore it more in my work as well.
The Brasilian banknotes are currently very colourful as all banknotes should be, however they are a little outdates, and I thought I could put a bright new spin on the designs, putting Brasil in a new contemporary light, especially with the Olympics being held there this summer, the world will be looking at them as a nation, and therefore their banknotes will be passed around by foreigners a lot more. I see this as a great opportunity to redesign a key aspect of Brasil, at a time where more of the world will see and appreciate the changes.
The Amazon rainforest is a massive part of Brasil, and something that should definitely be featured on the banknotes. The current bank notes feature exotic animals, however their true beauty doesn't shine through as it could do, and the rainforest is definitely something to show off if you have it. This is why I have decided to flaunt Brasil's Amazon rainforest for all it's worth on these notes, as this is one of their shining features, and something people need to recognise is something you don't find everywhere and should be treasured.
