OUGD505 STUDIO BRIEF TWO - IDEA CONFUSION & BLAH & DECISIONS

I am just so confused about what to produce and whether it will be effective and what it is exactly I'm going to produce and just why I'm producing it and will it actually help the problem. The start up kit won't really have an impact on the rainforest, so then I went back to the idea of drones to monitor the logging issue, and thought about what I could actually produce, such as promoting drones, perhaps a drone app or a poster campaign but then I thought WHY, what will it do? Not a lot. So then I changed idea completely and moved onto global warming but then that's a whole other bottomless research area and gave up with that idea after 3 points that CO2 is released into the atmosphere, which leads to increased global warming, and droughts. This topic is just so broad and wide open, and it's really hard to find a solution that will have a direct positive impact upon deforestation.

But then a simple thing to produce would be a guide to being more sustainable, that could be viewed digitally or on recycled paper, which can be distributed globally and available free in libraries, government buildings, convenience shops, available in different languages so people know how they can help. Perhaps called "how you can save the rainforest". Maybe have a bit about the impact deforestation has upon the world not just in that area but globally as well with the water cycle and global warming etc. Maybe make it a fun little guide that kids can understand as well, so they can learn about in schools maybe, or read at bed times, but is the language too complicated? But then will this guide make an impact on the rainforest? Will it actually help? But then is it enough for it to just contribute? But should it be aimed at big companies who buy in wood from the Amazon, to show them and offices how to be more sustainable, would that make more of an impact?

I produced a mind map on this guide to sustainability, thinking about the possible options for target audience. The audiences I thought of were companies who import wood, the government, everyday people and children as well, and how the guide would have to differ depending on the audience. I think the government and companies target audiences would be a lot more specific to business and certainly not as fun, taking on a more professional tone so it's taken seriously.
The next stage will be decide on a target audience for the guide, who will benefit most from this information, and how, no matter what the target audience, I can make this informative and fun.
